TAQUERIA Los Sombreros is a halal Mexican restaurant, built on bold flavor and strict Zabiha halal standards. Guests get gourmet tacos, burritos, fajitas, and bowls made fresh, without compromising on taste or tradition.
Now that same opportunity is open to you. As a franchisee, you’ll bring a proven concept and an underserved category to your own market, backed by a team that’s already worked out the recipes, the systems, and the culture.
Founded in 2013 in Des Plaines, Illinois, TAQUERIA Los Sombreros opened as the area’s first 100% Zabiha Halal Mexican restaurant. It remains one of the only ones today. A second location in Lombard proved the model travels. The demand behind it, from families, youth, work crews and anyone craving authentic Mexican food, hasn’t slowed down.
The fast-casual Mexican space is crowded. TAQUERIA Los Sombreros isn’t competing in it. It’s serving a category almost no one else touches.
TAQUERIA Los Sombreros is one of the only 100% Zabiha Halal Mexican restaurants in its market, giving franchisees a loyal, underserved customer base with little direct competition.
Restaurants run in 1,500 to 3,000 square feet, keeping build-out and overhead lower than most full-service concepts.
From training to marketing to purchasing, franchisees operate with a team behind them at every stage.
Twelve years of daily operations across two Illinois locations have already stress-tested the menu, the kitchen flow, and the training.
Made-to-order tacos, burritos, and bowls hit the sweet spot between quality and value.
This isn’t a passive investment. It’s a hands-on business for owners who want to lead from the front.
No restaurant ownership experience is required, though it helps. What matters most is a genuine love of good food and serving people well.
You won’t be figuring this out alone. Every franchisee moves through a structured onboarding built to get their doors open and running right.
Two weeks at headquarters cover everything from cooking and inventory to hiring and point-of-sale, followed by two weeks of hands-on, on-site training around your opening.
Corporate-developed advertising materials, local marketing plans, and campaign approval keep your restaurant visible and on-brand.
Field visits start weekly in your first quarter and continue on a regular schedule as your business matures, covering everything from unit operations to pricing guidance.
Franchise-wide vendor relationships mean group discounts on food, paper goods, and equipment. Savings you couldn’t negotiate alone.
TAQUERIA Los Sombreros has spent over a decade proving that great Mexican food and strict halal standards aren’t a compromise. They’re a competitive edge. Two locations, a loyal following, and a system built for replication are already in place.
Now the brand is expanding nationwide. Territories are limited, and each one is exclusive to a single franchisee. Once your market is claimed, it’s yours.
Bring the flavor. Own the category. Build something lasting.
