The Story Behind Our Success
The Sarita’s Grill & Cantina story begins in 2007 when Ruderis Gomez founded our very first location as a small buffet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Today, our renowned Latin cuisine has taken Mexican food to the next level by adding Salvadorian flavors for the ultimate taste experience — driving the need for three additional locations of this first concept.
Rewind back to age 17 when Ruderis first traveled to the United States from El Salvador. Kicking off his restaurant career washing dishes, he quickly worked his way up through a variety of restaurants and positions, eventually opening his first restaurant in 2004, El Magey, with his brother Alex. From these humble beginnings to a rewarding booming restaurant business, Sarita’s Grill & Cantina has proven to drive traffic, bring smiles, and serve as a hub for the community to relax, unwind, and have a margarita!
